WCC Advisor, Whole Child Connection
Position Summary:
The primary role of the Whole Child Connection (WCC) Advisor is to assist families through the WCC System to develop a WCC Plan and assist families in accessing and applying for public assistance applications for WCC program in Martin County managed by Treasure Coast Food Bank.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitating development of the Whole Child Plan:
- Helping families complete the Whole Child Profile.
- Helping families link services on the Whole Child Resource List to specific needs.
- Helping families build a Whole Child Plan that is as comprehensive as possible.
- Documenting in the database what happens with a family as a result of the Whole Child Plan to improve individual results and assess the responsiveness of the Whole Child Providers who answers Client Service Requests from the WCC system.
- Provide additional information on services and service providers that might not be on the resource list.
- Assisting providers in updating information on the resource list.
- Advocating on behalf of the family.
- Following up on family and provider performance on the plan.
- Facilitating revisions to the plan as needed.
- Assist and verify the client’s application process for Medicaid eligibility, Food Stamps, and Cash Assistance\TANF.
- Liaison with agencies providing public assistance and the families applying for economic self-sufficiency services.
- Monitor client application process and appointment compliance over time and assist client with complying with required, accurate documentation needed to assess Medicaid eligibility.
- Participate in community events to promote WCC services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English required
- At least two years of experience coordinating case management services and/or at least two years of experience providing the highest level of customer support and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to customer service that can help resolve complex issues and solve problems.
- Self-starter, motivated to solve problems, positive attitude, goal-oriented, and flexible
- Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills required
- Committed to the mission of poverty alleviation
- Highest degree of compassion towards those experiencing poverty and food insecurity
- Required to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and Saturdays

Physical Requirements & Acknowledgement:
The position requires the ability to do heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) bend, stoop, squat, climb, step up, and sit for long periods of time.
