Treasure Coast Food Bank will kick off “Pack the House” at 11:30 a.m. Friday with an opening ceremony at its headquarters, 401 Angle Road in Fort Pierce.

The kick-off will include the announcement of a major new investment into Treasure Coast Food Bank’s Florida Agriculture & Nourishment Collaborative. Media is invited to attend.

Pack the House is Treasure Coast Food Bank’s annual signature 24-hour packing and sorting event in which hundreds of volunteers will sort and pack more than 250,000 pounds of food and other essential products for individuals and families in need on the Treasure Coast. It’s a highlight of Hunger Action Month.

In the spirit of the National Day of Service and Remembrance, the ceremony will include a color guard and a few brief remarks from Treasure Coast Food Bank’s CEO to community dignitaries, volunteers, board members and staff.

The packing begins immediately afterward.
