Treasure Coast Food Bank Makes Strategic Additions to Board of Directors

 

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Sept. 25, 2024 – Treasure Coast Food Bank, the leading organization dedicated to ending hunger on Florida’s Treasure Coast, has announced the addition of two new members to its 11-member board of directors. Logan Wellmeier, an attorney at Dean, Mead, Minton & Moore, began his term in June, and Juan Awad, a market leader at Florida Blue – Palm Beach and Treasure Coast, joined in August.

“Treasure Coast Food Bank warmly welcomes Logan Wellmeier and Juan Awad to our Board of Directors,” said Judith Cruz, president and CEO. “Their diverse expertise and passion for our mission will enhance our ability to address food insecurity in innovative ways. We are excited about their fresh perspectives and leadership they bring as we work toward a hunger-free Treasure Coast.”

Logan Wellmeier, a real estate attorney, offers a wealth of knowledge in zoning, permitting, and land development. His background in legal matters related to real estate will be instrumental as Treasure Coast Food Bank navigates partnerships and property developments that expand its impact.

Juan Awad brings over 15 years of experience in healthcare, where he has led strategies that improved patient outcomes and increased operational efficiency. His leadership has garnered recognition for excellence in patient care, positioning him to make a valuable contribution to the food bank’s mission of serving the community.

Wellmeier and Awad join the following directors: Mitch Hall (Walmart Distribution Center), Pete Tesch (Economic Council of St. Lucie County), Mark Satterlee (St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners), Christine Kelly-Begazo (University of Florida and IFAS Indian River County), Major Petri Hayes (St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office), David Jackson (Office of Congressman Bill Posey), Dr. Raja Talati (Midway Specialty Care Center), Richard Tambone (Tambone Companies), and Karl Zimmerman (SLC Commercial).
