Herman and his wife Sonja visit Treasure Coast Food Bank’s agency partner, GraceWay Village Café, which works with families who are experiencing poverty, food insecurity, homelessness, and other challenges.

The couple’s daughter, Juliana, will be starting first grade this fall, and she shares her hopes of being a police officer one day.

Herman works as a food delivery driver and Sonja is building her own tax business, but like many working families, the couple’s combined incomes aren’t keeping pace with the high prices at the grocery store right now.

When household bills pile up, food is often the first thing to be sacrificed. While the cost of living remains high, families like Herman’s face difficult decisions.

But thanks to Treasure Coast Food Bank’s agency partner, GraceWay Village Café, Herman’s family and many others have a reliable lifeline to receive healthy meals that help supplement their grocery budget.

“[The hot food] is very helpful,” Herman says. “They give…spaghetti and things like that.”

Juliana is a big fan of the food the family picks up as well, and she says some of her favorites are “pizza, noodles, beans, and rice.”

Your partnership helps ensure that Herman and his family have the nutritious food needed to thrive.
