Phillip and his wife are now caring for their grandkids, Logan, 11, and Sean, 9. As loving grandparents, they prioritize education in their home and ensure Logan and Sean have the healthy fuel they need to learn and grow. By keeping their kitchen stocked with the ingredients for balanced meals, they support their grandchildren’s success both inside and outside the classroom.
Raising kids can be expensive, especially with the rising cost of food. To ensure Logan and Sean have enough to eat, Phillip visits Graceway Village Café, a Treasure Coast Food Bank agency partner.
“The rent and cost of living have increased drastically,” Phillip says, which has made it difficult to afford the high cost of groceries. Becoming full-time caregivers for their grandkids while on a fixed income has been challenging.
The food from Graceway Village Café helps the family stretch their grocery budget, making it possible to provide balanced meals while also covering other household needs.
“Our income is limited,” Phillip explains, “so [the food] helps out a lot. It’s been a blessing.”
We’re so thankful for you and all our partners who help ensure every Treasure Coast family like Phillip’s can access nutritious food this holiday season and every season.
