Fred, 87, is a true American hero. A proud veteran who bravely served in both Korea and Vietnam during the 1950s, now cherishes his well-earned retirement by spending time with his beloved wife, Theresa, 85.
Fred and Theresa love spending time together outdoors – it’s one of the many reasons they moved to Florida. Fred enjoys fishing and the couple loves to hike together when Theresa is feeling up to it. She’s currently preparing for a major surgery.
With Theresa’s health top of mind, Fred makes it a priority to stock the kitchen with healthy food. However, living on a fixed income makes this a constant challenge, especially on top of paying for household expenses and medical care.
Fred and Theresa have found Treasure Coast Food Bank’s agency partner, Salvation Army in Fort Pierce, to be incredibly helpful. The pantry is stocked with a variety of healthy food, personal care items, and household essentials that our neighbors can access on a regular basis.
“This food really rounds out what we need,” Fred says.
While Fred supports Theresa in preparing and recovering from her surgery, these critical programs help alleviate some of their worries.
“These food packages take a huge weight off my shoulders,” Fred shares.
Your partnership helps to ensure that both Fred and Theresa can focus on her health, healing, strength, and recovery.
