The House is expected to vote any day now on the disastrous Farm Bill.
The Farm Bill – the most consequential food policy program in America — released by the House Agriculture Committee include huge cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This food assistance program feeds 12 times as many people in America than the entire Feeding America network of 200 food banks that Treasure Coast Food Bank is part of.
Anti-hunger advocates are joining across the country to tell Congress to say NO to these cuts – and we need your help to make sure the calls flood in!
Call your Representative IMMEDIATELY and tell them to vote NO on cuts to SNAP. It will only take you two minutes – a small sacrifice to help prevent millions from going hungry.
SNAP puts food into the hands of nearly 42 million Americans, nearly half of them under the age of 18. Making cuts to this program is simply cruel – and will leave our fellow Americans struggling to find their next meal.
We need to keep the phones ringing off the hook to stop this bill from advancing and leaving millions without enough to eat.
Here’s what to do:
• Dial 888-398-8702
• Follow the prompts to be connected to your Representative
• Tell them you’re a constituent.
• Urge them to vote NO on the Farm Bill (H.R. 2) and oppose cuts to SNAP food assistance.
Let’s make sure Congress understands their role in preventing chronic hunger in the U.S. before families are without food in their districts.
