MEDIA ADVISORY

Nov.  2024

WHAT: In preparation for the holiday season, Treasure Coast Food Bank (TCFB) is launching its annual Turkey Collection Drive to ensure local families facing food insecurity can enjoy a warm holiday meal. Community members are encouraged to donate turkeys and other holiday meal essentials, helping bring comfort and nourishment to families in need. This year, TCFB aims to collect 750 turkeys to meet growing demand and spread holiday joy.

WHEN: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., between now and Monday, Nov. 25.

WHERE: Treasure Coast Food Bank’s headquarters, 401 Angle Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947

WHY: With food insecurity on the rise, TCFB is calling on the community to participate in the Turkey Collection Drive. All turkeys donated will be distributed to local families to help ensure that everyone can celebrate with a nutritious meal.

The community can also support by making financial contributions directly on our website, stophunger.org/give, which will go toward purchasing turkeys and other essentials.

INTERVIEWS: Representatives from TCFB will be available onsite to discuss the significance of this campaign, the current demand for food assistance, and the impact of community support on food insecurity on the Treasure Coast. Interview opportunities with volunteers, community partners, and recipients (pending approval) will also be available.
