During the government shutdown, Treasure Coast Food Bank has seen a growing number of federal workers—like postal employees, IRS staff, airport personnel, and military families—turn to us for support. At Treasure Coast Food Bank, we serve more than 250,000 people each week across Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties, and that number is rising. We’ve already welcomed an additional 25,000 to 30,000 neighbors seeking food assistance. While some food commodities are no longer available to us, we’re doing everything we can to ensure our community has access to the essentials.
