Thank you to our friends at Treasure Coast Legal for their compassion and support in helping to alleviate hunger on the Treasure Coast.
STUART — The team at Treasure Coast Legal recently collected food to help replenish the Treasure Coast Food Bank’s food pantries after the holidays.
Food banks frequently see a decline in donations after the holidays, so Shaun Plymale, managing member of Treasure Coast Legal, decided to collect food at their offices in January and February.
“No child should have to go to bed hungry, and small food drives conducted in businesses around Martin County can go a long way towards fulfilling that need,” said Plymale.
The team at Treasure Coast Legal collected more than 100 food items to donate to the food bank.
The Treasure Coast Food Bank provides 400 very active pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior housing and low-income day care centers with large quantities of food from name-brand manufactures and USDA commodities on a daily basis. They also operate various mobile food pantries throughout their service area and assist pantries that provide backpacks to hundreds of children on the weekend. The backpacks are disbursed to qualifying children on Friday afternoon by various schools.
