PORT ST. LUCIE – Students at Chesterbrook Academy preschool in Port St. Lucie recently hosted a school-wide canned food drive to benefit Treasure Coast Food Bank in Fort Pierce.

On Nov. 18, students participated in a Turkey Trot as part of the food drive. Each student dressed as a turkey and wobbled up to the front lobby of the school to drop off canned goods to help those in need this holiday season.

On Nov. 22, students helped to load their donations on a school bus and delivered them to the food bank. Students were given a tour of the facility and learned how their contributions are distributed in the community.

Students set a preschool record of collecting 601 pounds of food.
