Along the Treasure Coast, your gift is helping to make an incredible impact on our neighbors facing food insecurity this holiday season — just like Ygnacia’s.
As a proud mother, Ygnacia and her family enjoy spending time in the garden and going to the park.
Ygnacia’s husband works full-time, but he has to travel out of state for his job, so Ygnacia stays home to care for the kids. The couple works hard to stretch the family income, but with the current high cost of living, it’s not always enough to cover all the bills and afford groceries.
Thankfully, Ygnacia discovered Treasure Coast Food Bank’s Mobile Food Distribution at Treasure Coast Square Mall in Jensen Beach, where she can pick up healthy food for her family.
“They give us fresh fruits and vegetables,” Ygnacia told us about the food she receives.
One of Ygnacia’s children, three-year-old Alejandra, is preparing to start Pre-K and Ygnacia is grateful she’ll have healthy food to help her learn, grow, and play. Alejandra’s favorite food from the distribution is watermelon.
Ygnacia says she is especially grateful she can visit the distribution to ensure her family always has food on the table.
“I’ve lived in other states, and I’ve never been able to find a program like this one,” she says.
