For Veronica, cooking is one way she shows her love for her family. She prepares meals for her children and shares food with her mom and sister, keeping family at the center of her busy life.

Veronica and her husband, Valentin, have five children: Liset, 16, Valentin Jr., 13, Victoria, 10, Mateo, 7, and Daniel, 3. Veronica works as a housekeeper, while her husband works as a plumber. Her mom helps care for the younger children while their parents are at work.

But when Veronica’s hours were cut in half, the family had to make some adjustments – especially to their expenses.

For the past several months, Veronica has visited the Treasure Coast Food Bank Mobile Pantry at Revelation Truth Church in Fellsmere to stretch her grocery budget.

“We really love everything we receive, and our family eats all of it,” Veronica says.

Even with a busy household, Veronica makes time for the things her family enjoys. They like going to the park and playing soccer.

She is also looking ahead. One of Veronica’s goals is to travel with her family to visit their relatives.

For Veronica, family is at the heart of everyday life, from preparing meals to spending time together and looking ahead to the adventures they will share.
