With a son preparing to start kindergarten and a daughter heading into third grade, Maria and Henry are looking forward to an exciting new school year for their family.
Henry works as a mechanic, while Maria cares for their children full time. Last year, the couple noticed a Treasure Coast Food Bank distribution sites while driving through their Lakewood Park community and decided to stop by. Since then, they have returned several times to pick up healthy food for their family.
Their children especially enjoy the fresh fruit available at distribution sites.
“Strawberries, grapes, and oranges,” Maria shares when asked about some of their favorites.
When they are not preparing for the busy school year ahead, the family enjoys spending time together at the park. The children love practicing baseball, and the whole family enjoys cheering on their favorite team, the New York Yankees.
As they look toward the future, Henry remains hopeful.
“I ask God for his blessings… for everything we need in life and for a steady job with a good salary,” he shares.
