Kim Pennington is committed to helping her community. After spending her career working for the St. Lucie School District, Kim wanted to invest her time giving back in retirement. That’s when she connected with Treasure Coast Food Bank.
“I wanted to find some volunteer activities that would benefit my community and make me feel like I was making a difference,” Kim explains. “I found that, and more, at Treasure Coast Food Bank.”
Kim is not only investing in her community, but she has also found volunteering to be a social outlet where she can connect with other volunteers and staff.
“The Food Bank staff are always grateful for the work that the volunteers do,” Kim says.
While volunteering offers social connection and physical activity through sorting and boxing food, Kim also appreciates the opportunity to help connect neighbors facing hunger with nourishing meals.
“Knowing that I am helping to ensure that families in need have access to food makes this the perfect volunteer opportunity for me,” shares Kim.
We are so grateful for all our volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to helping create a hunger-free community — thank you!
If you would like to give the gift of time, please consider volunteering to help make an impact along the Treasure Coast.
