Catherine and Thomas have been Florida residents for over two decades. The couple enjoys supporting their grandkids by attending football games, band performances, and school award ceremonies.
As a retired nurse, Catherine knows how important a well-balanced diet is to living a healthy, fulfilling life, especially since she and Thomas both have chronic health conditions.
“We both have cardiac issues, and he has diabetes,” shares Catherine.
Lately, affording healthy groceries has become increasingly difficult. High costs at the store have made it even harder to stretch their fixed income to buy nourishing food and still pay their other bills.
Thankfully, the couple can visit Treasure Coast Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry at Operation Hope every month, where they can pick up fresh produce, wholesome staples, nutritious proteins, and even pet food for their dog and cat.
“That fresh produce means everything” Catherine says.
