Title: Meal Delivery Driver & Team Support                        Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer

Position Summary:

 

The Meal Delivery Driver & Team Support employee will safely transport food and donations to and from various locations within the Treasure Coast area and perform essential warehousing duties. These include receiving, storage, and distribution of products, maintaining vehicles and equipment, ensuring warehouse cleanliness, and other tasks as assigned.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Transportation:

 

  • Safely pick up and deliver program food, donations, and other products to multiple locations, agencies, and entities as needed.
  • Load and unload vehicles at all locations promptly and securely.
  • Operate vehicles and machinery, including box trucks, vans, and forklifts, to fulfill transportation and delivery needs.
  • Maintain accurate mileage logs, including records for USDA product deliveries.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance such as pre-and post-trip inspections, fluid checks, and ensuring proper tire pressure.
  • Report any damages, accidents, or issues to management promptly.
  • Follow all food safety rules when handling or transporting food, including taking and recording food temperatures accurately.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and organized, removing trash and debris regularly.
  • Keep records of vehicle maintenance and expenses.

 

Warehouse:

  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks, maintaining proper handling techniques.
  • Provide customer service support in the warehouse and perform product handling and sanitation duties.
  • Operate forklifts (certification preferred; training and certification required within the first 90 days).
  • Monitor and record refrigeration equipment temperatures to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Support the receiving process for incoming products and assist with inventory management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possession of a current Florida CDL Driver’s License, liability insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and agency personnel.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs comfortably and operate large machinery as needed.
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required upon hire; certification must be obtained within 90 days.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and adherence to organizational dress codes.
  • Must be comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments for extended periods throughout the shift; appropriate PPE is provided.
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
  • Must pass a math test.

Work Environment:
This position requires physical activity, including frequent lifting and operating machinery. The employee will work both indoors in a warehouse setting and outdoors for deliveries, often exposed to various weather conditions.
