Title: SFSP Food Production Specialist                                   Reports to:  SFSP Kitchen Manager

Position Summary:

 

To assist in cooking, preparing, and assembling daily meals for the Summer Food Service Program, following its policies and procedures while assisting the Food Production Supervisor with relative programs duties as assigned, adhering to the Treasure Coast Food Bank mission.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Follow standardized recipes to prepare food items on the menu and perform large-scale food preparation and production to provide quality meals and package items for delivery, all while following HACCP procedures.
  • Follow established production schedule, menus, food safety, and all other procedures and practices.
  • Complete all necessary daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork for all food items prepared in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with food delivery, inventory control, physical inventory counts, and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain kitchen production equipment daily, weekly, and monthly as assigned.
  • Maintain high standards in sanitation and safety at all times.
  • Have the ability to drive TCFB vehicles to make daily meal deliveries as needed.
  • Understand and follow the policy and procedures of Treasure Coast Food Bank and all local, state, and federal regulations related to reimbursable meal programs guidelines.
  • Attend training as required by TCFB and federal regulations to maintain the integrity of the Summer Food Service program.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of quantity cooking, food prep, and basic cooking principles
  • Ability to follow directions, food safety procedures
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to stand for long hours, lift up to 50 lbs. and perform manual tasks
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Satisfactory background check and drug screen
  • ServSafe Certified or equivalent food safety training is preferred
