All throughout September, TCFB will observe Hunger Action Month™ – a nationwide initiative designed to mobilize the public to take action on the issue of hunger and join the movement to help end hunger along the Treasure Coast. A full calendar of events and actions–one for every day of the month–is now available below.

Planning for Hunger Action Month is now underway! Dedicated citizens can join our 2016 Hunger Action Month Committee. You can attend our monthly Hunger Action Month Committee meetings (listed on our Volunteer Page) or call us at 772-489-3034 to learn more.

Go Orange For Hunger – One in six people on the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee face hunger. This September, we ask that you Go Orange for Hunger to raise awareness of this critical issue. Click here for more info.

“Strike Out Hunger” – Join us September 3rd at 6:30 PM for a special night at the ballpark with the St. Lucie Mets. Limited edition jerseys for the night have been designed and you’ll have the chance to bid on one–and have it autographed by the team if you wish. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased by calling 772.489.304 or emailing gporter@tcfoodbank.org.

“Hidden in Plain Sight: Lifting Up Vulnerable Populations in Indian River County” Attend a free breakfast roundtable discussion with local experts on the causes of poverty and hunger—and its solutions. Event is to be held September 8 at 8 am at the United Way of Indian River County office in Vero Beach. Please call 772-489-3034 to RSVP and for details.

“Aging Without Dignity: Addressing Senior Poverty in Martin County” – Another opportunity to learn from local experts—with a focus this session on Martin County’s senior population. Free breakfast coordinated in partnership with the Kane Center and Council on Aging of Martin County on September 13 at the Kane Center in Stuart. Please call 772-489-3034 to RSVP and for details.

Coffee Bar Blue Door Movie Night – Attend foodie movie night on September 19 at Coffee Bar Blue Door in downtown Stuart (8 pm and film is “Big Night” starring Stanley Tucci).
