“The fact that Treasure Coast Food Bank does as much as it does is something I want to be a part of.”
Kathy, 65, is a retired nurse anesthetist and a current Treasure Coast Food Bank volunteer.
Kathy retired early after receiving a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Though she says her diagnosis has presented its’ challenges, she doesn’t let anything get in the way of what she sets her mind to.
Kathy loves to stay busy, and she frequently volunteers at Treasure Coast Food Bank to help her neighbors — many she will likely never meet.
“Even though I can’t see them, I know they’re there,” she says explaining her motivation to give her time. “The fact that Treasure Coast Food Bank does as much as it does is something I want to be a part of.”
To all the potential Food Bank volunteers, Kathy urges, “We’ll put you to work, and you’ll say ‘my goodness I can do this and I’m going to have a great day!’”
Thank you to Kathy and all our amazing volunteers who dedicate their time to serving our community.
